The past week was a challenge. The stress of just everyday living left me feeling a little drained.
This leaf covered sidewalk on my run was a bit of a mental reminder. I know these sidewalks. My feet have ran over them for the last 4 years. I know where they become uneven, where they dip, where they turn into hills. I know where there is permanently etched names, dates, and art in the concrete.
I know these sidewalks even when they are hidden under a season of change.
It reminded me that I know what it feels like see things clearly without the worry of tripping.
I know the sacrifice of change.
As a health coach I followed the same methods that I hope my clients would choose...
- Self care
- Practicing gratitude
- Seeking help from my support system (even when I just wanted to say things were ok)
- Positive thinking
- Recalling past obstacles that I SMASHED
- And then, even more self care
It was a tough week but I was reminded of what I am capable of. I know it's worth it.
Just look at the sun lighting up that tree outside my home!
(This was taken from an Instagram post that I wrote on Saturday 11/11. After a stressful week I took the weekend to kind of decompress. I was fortunate to have the time to surround myself with people and activities that bring me joy. The third photo was taken today, 11/14 while I was on my morning run. It is the same location as the first photo. Now, I know it was a hard-working homeowner that cleared that sidewalk over the weekend but I would kind of like to think that I cleared the way a little, too!)
